Promote Skambankt!
The winners
Finally it is time to announce the lucky winners - and not only the LUCKY winners of course, but most importantly those who worked very hard to deserve their prize!
The competition was about promoting Skambankt - you can still read the description if you
The four main winners were selected by Skambankt themselves. Here they are:
No. 1 (winning a set of Skambankt underwear): nyelle!
nyelle
- wrote a "very good, interesting and incredibly witty" article presenting Skambankt for kaizers.pl
- added Wikipedia articles about Skambankt in Polish, French, and Finnish
- printed about 130 Skambankt flyers and 80 stickers with logo and slogan:

- invaded four press megastores in Warsaw and put the "geniusly designed Skambankt leaflets with catchy and rebellious slogans" into all rock magazines she could spot (~ 130 probably...)
- vandalised the bus stops in the city center with "stickers as gorgeous as the leaflets"
- molested fan.pl (online shop that already carries Skambankt and Skamania) to take in Eliskir as well, and sent in the cover pics
- advertised Skambankt in any rock related topic and discussion, mainly at Grono.net (the Polish MySpace)
- skambanktized her friends and her Mom ("She was absolutely amazed by Dynasti and the video KKK. She couldn't stop repeating 'now that is real rock!'.")

I definitely think that is worth a prize... and well, if Skambankt start touring in Poland instead of Norway now, it's all her fault, I guess. =;-)
No. 2 (winning a signed copy of Eliksir): Kathleen M.!
Kathleen
- created a banner and a flyer:

- put the banner up on MySpace and LiveJournal and wrote blog entries about the new album
- printed out flyers and sent them out as part of goods deliveries, dealt them out in the university library and stuck them everywhere where people could see them
- sent out lots of emails to (German) music magazines and radio stations asking them to play/report about Skambankt - result: lots of positive feedback ("yes, we'll keep an eye out for them"), and one local radio actually played a song

- made a Skambankt birthday cake for her Mum:

- created her own merch and wore it constantly the last days:

And even though she was not allowed to cut the trees in the front yard in S-form, I guess the CD is well-deserved...
No. 3 (winning a Skambankt t-shirt): Roe S.!
Roe didn't really write what he did, but the pictures tell the story, I would say... Haven't I seen that before, somewhere else? *g*

And as the car isn't running anymore, as far as I heard, the t-shirt will have to do as promotion from now on...
No. 4 (winning Skambankt patches and signed photos): Marielle R. and Silje F.!
Marielle and Silje did a lot, mostly creating their own merch, but what turned them into winners was clearly this here:
Putting up such a huge sign in the school window will gain a prize, no question about it. Hope it's still up! =;-)
Of course, there were also other very very good entries that didn't quite make it. For example, thanks to Ida there are Wikipedia articles about Skambankt in
Russian and
Spanish by now. Silja designed a
Skambankt-skirt. Linn plastered a school in Grimstad with Skambankt logos. Ulf reviewed Eliksir in a
German fanzine. And a lot more, thanks for all the great entries!
And as promised, some of the winners were also drawn at random. So, here are the lucky winners:
- Ina K. wins a signed copy of Eliksir! She created two promotion videos (watch them here and here) which were deemed funny but not quite professional enough to make it into the top winners - but well, then you just need to be lucky!
- Magdalena B. wins a Skambankt t-shirt! She got a Skambankt tattoo. Definitely impressive, but not really a promotion activity... but obviously it brings luck. =;-)
- Einar B. wins a Skambankt patch! He counted down to the album release in his MSN nick. Simple but effective!
- Skamkast #1 wins a Skambankt patch as well! He wrote a Wikipedia article about Eliksir. Still a stub, but hey, Skambankt are taking over Wikipedia!
So, congrats to all the winners! And thanks to everybody who participated and promoted Skambankt!
